Ferns Castle The Castle is an Anglo-Norman fortress built in south-east Ireland during the early 13th century. The Castle was enclosed by a large rock-cut moat, which was bridged near the south-west tower. |

It was here that the gatehouse, drawbridge and outer defences were sited, the remains of which can be seen today. Ferns Castle Visitor Centre is open every day during the summer months.

Wexford County possesses an abundance of clean rivers and lakes to cater for the coarse and game angler; the Rivers Barrow and Slaney are the two largest rivers.

The park is sign-posted just outside Wexford town on the R741 between Ferrybank and Castlebridge.
